MILAN – Federscherma – The Promoting Committee for the “Milano2023” bid, by which the Lombard capital proposes to host the World Fencing Championships in 2023, was formed yesterday in Milan. The meeting was also attended by FIS President Paolo Azzi, Honorary President Giorgio Scarso and Lombardy Regional Committee President Maurizio Novellini. The promoting committee is chaired by Italian Marco Fichera and is composed of Giovanna Pesci, Giuseppe Zalum, Carmelo Tribunale, and Franco Ascani and now aims to identify all the elements and architects to draw up the project of organizing the World Championships.
The President has been mandated to identify the figures with whom to interface in order to proceed, and the committee, in its components, has already defined the priorities for action and already in the coming days the appropriate interlocutions will be initiated.
